Hancock Software is a leading developer and provider of automated solutions that enable states, agencies and utilities administer and deliver energy assistance, weatherization and energy auditing programs more efficiently and effectively. Our flagship LIHEAP and WAP Online systems automate manual activities, provide real-time insight onto all aspects of program execution, and dramatically increase the productivity of state offices, CAP agencies and their associated service providers. HEAT, our iPhone-based energy audit tool, simplifies the execution of field audit assignments, eliminating burdensome paperwork and enhancing customer responsiveness.

Looking ahead, Hancock Software foresees a bright future with accelerating growth. Increased funding and expansion of energy programs through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 will require far better systems to support an expanding base of clients and services.   Our solid foundation of proven offerings, satisfied customers and deep energy and technical expertise enables us to meet this challenge directly and supports the continual development of innovative solutions for the future.

Historical Highlights

1999 - The South Middlesex Opportunity Council (SMOC), a Community Action Agency, commissioned the development of a new integrated system to run multiple Energy Conservation programs.
2000 - Developed by Lily Li, the resulting system, SMOC Energy Reporting System (SMOC-ERS), was the first energy audit tool in the country to incorporate a relational database and included a DOE certified audit tool.
2001 - SMOC formed EnSoft Solutions, a subsidiary to market SMOC-ERS to other agencies and utilities.
2004 - SMOC decided to close EnSoft Solutions. Capitalizing on this opportunity, Lily Li acquired the rights to SMOC-ERS and launched Hancock Energy Software.
2005 -  Hancock Energy Software redeveloped SMOC-ERS into the current web-based LIHEAP/WAP Online system to expand its support of statewide energy assistance programs.
2006 - The State of Louisiana became the first purchaser of the new Hancock Energy Software systems.
